COVID-19 Information

Lockdown Procedure

As you may have already seen, the UK Government announced on 23rd March, 8:30pm that the United Kingdom (including Northern Ireland) is officially in ‘lockdown’.

The details of the lockdown can be found below:

  • Requiring people to stay at home, except for very limited purposes (medical emergencies, shopping for basic necessities, shopping for medicine)
  • Closing non-essential shops and community spaces
  • Stopping all gatherings of more than two people in public
  • Leaving the house for one piece of solo exercise (run, walk, cycle) per day

Every citizen must comply with these new measures. The relevant authorities, including the police, will be given the powers to enforce them – including through fines and dispersing gatherings.

These measures are effective immediately. The Government will look again at these measures in three weeks, and relax them if the evidence shows this is possible.

You can find full information here: https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus

To reiterate, our accommodation is still operational and will continue to remain open and adopt measures where appropriate to further ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone who lives here. There is currently no interruption to our business or services we offer.

This is a highly unusual situation for everyone, and we will continue the high levels of service and safety for all of our residents.

Finally, if you are feeling unwell or showing any symptoms of coronavirus, please follow the below procedure:

  • Notify us via by phone that you’re feeling unwell
  • Do not leave your room or studio
  • Visit https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19/ and follow the advice outlined

Leaving early

We are currently in conversation with Ulster University as well as some of our other education partners, regarding the closure of classes and transition to online learning.

Understandably, many students have now travelled home or are making arrangements to leave Belfast when travel restrictions are lifted, to continue their online studies there.

If you do not plan to continue staying at 123 York Street for your third University term (so from after Easter), then please contact us via email at cancellations@123yorkstreet.com to discuss your options.

Equally, we understand that travelling home is not an option for some people and as such, we would like to reiterate that our accommodation is still completely operational. If we do not get a confirmation of cancellation by Friday 10th April, we will take this that you are continuing to stay at 123 York Street and will be liable for your rent payments.

Our commitment to you, our residents, and our staff are paramount to our core values and our building will continue to operate as normal for those who still remain. We look forward to welcoming back our guests who have left, in the coming weeks and months. Our door will always be open.

We will continue to monitor this situation as it progresses and update this page with the relevant information.

Thank You,

123 York Street Team
